Jack passed away early Sunday (a little after midnight). He was eight, which is about the lifespan for those big ol' dogs. It's really not long enough. I'm still trying to deal with it, and so are my other dogs....
He was probably one of the most amazing living creatures I ever met, let alone have the total joy of having in my life.
Jack loved EVERYONE. He always had a happy bark ready for anyone he saw. He loved it when kids hung on him. He loved to play. He loved bread, and walks, and swimming.
He loved me the best. Hell, he wouldn't let me walk too close to the road, and when we went to lake, I was the first one he tried to "save". I even fell asleep on him more than once.
So, my life is a little less awesome now. I miss him more than I knew I could. I don't know who's going to be bothered enough to try and keep me away from the road anymore....
I just hope he's waiting for me, and he's happy, wherever he is. He deserves it.

We are a mirror showing someone else their own selfimage perception, creating it for them.
I can't criticize what I don't understand. If you want to call this art, you've got the benefit of all my doubts. - Charles Rosin, Northern Exposure
